that definitely ain't me on that ridge. fat guys shouldn't be out in that sort of heat.
you have caught the mood very nicely. the burning sand is emphasised by the blueness of the sky.

OHHHHHHHH not only is it killer hot, just standing still, if you try and walk in SAND it's even worse! Oh yes, people could die real quick out in this! Beautiful shot Hansie! Love the ridge here, it's super nice and sharp!

Nice pic Hans - it was hot enough in the winter in Sossusvlei during daylight, so summer must be a belter... I bet they're English - you know the saying "mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun" :-)
Great colour, really like the harsh look to the place.. Great view of the Namib!!

Haha great shot! I love it! What a place. I can imagine you, laden with camera gear, determinedly tackling everything this arid land threw at you ... despite the heat.
Great sense of scale thanks to the figures on top of the dune, good composition and a solid demonstration in the effective use of aperture.
So--- I hope you were in a vehicle?? This is a beauty. Excellent color tones/contrasting blue sky and nice strong details. Well done ! TFS Julie

What an effective composition from a perfect POV!
I love the color tones reflected by these well shaped dunes. Very well balanced light usage! Perfect sharpness and well shown natural colors. Marvelous job!

A nice desert shot with marvellous sand dunes adorned with fabulous warm lighting. Nice play with shadows and beautiful color tones.
Nice contrast with the blue sky. The presence of the human element makes us compare the vastness of this desert.
A very sharp image, neatly presented.

Nice one, the dunes are always eyecatching and the sand saturated colour looks great under the blue sky.
The small bushes in foreground add a nice touch and the two 'mosquitos' on top of the dune are necessary to understand the scale.
Good DOF thru the f/16

Hello Hans ,
WOooooow....Amazing composition, wonderful site with lovely warm colors and accurate exposure makes it one of your best shots!!the saturated colors and steeping sand slides looks so fabulous here, the 50/50 framing works here with deep blue sky in BG which adds in its beauty, well captured and well done.

This one jumped out at me in your recent gallery. Striking warm cold color contrasts, with good sharpness & framing. Tfs!
